SUMMARY:Middlesex Men's County Championships
DESCRIPTION:Click HERE to register \nMIDDLESEX GOLF MEN’S County Championship\nQualifications\ni) Entrants must be male and hold a handicap of 8.4 or lower on the date that their entry for the Championship is submitted. Players with handicaps greater than the limit may not enter.\nii) As authorised under 2.6 of the Middlesex Golf General Conditions\, an entry may be refused if\, in the opinion of the Championship Committee\, a players Handicap Index is not reflective of their playing ability. This decision may be based on but is not limited to:\na) a handicap record (most recent 20 scores) that contains more than 10 (ten) General Play scores\,\nb) an incomplete handicap record where fewer than 20 scores have been returned.\nMaximum Entry\nThe maximum number of competitors is 72. If the number of approved entries exceeds the number of places available\, Part I – General Rules Applying to All Competitions\, Section 5 will apply.\nFormat\ni) The County Championship is a three-day event. All competitors will play a 36-hole qualifier on the first day. The 16 players returning the lowest aggregate scores in qualifying will enter the match play knock out stage played over the second and third days.\nii) A tie for the last match play place(s) will be decided in accordance with Part II – Terms of Play Applying to All Competitions\, Section 15.\niii) The 16 qualifying players will compete in a singles match play event over 18 holes on the morning of the second day. The winning eight players will compete in a singles match play event over 18 holes on the afternoon of the second day. The winning four players will compete in a singles match play event over 18 holes on the morning of the third day. The two finalists will compete in singles match play event over 18 holes on the afternoon of the third day.\nOrder of Play\ni) For the stroke play rounds\, as far as is practical\, competitors will be drawn to play in descending order of handicap in groups of three with no playing group comprising two competitors from the same club.\nii) For the match play stage of the Championship the places in the draw will be determined by the Qualifying Scores from the stroke play rounds as recommended under Committee Procedures\, Section 5F(1) of the Official Guide to the Rules of Golf.\niii) In each match\, the player that has the honour at the first teeing ground is determined by the order of the draw as required under Rule 6.4a(1) of the Rules of Golf \n
