Eastenders star picks up first point for Middlesex
Report from 1st team Captain Will Orridge
Middlesex 1st team played our last league match of 2024 against Bedfordshire at Bedford and County Golf Club on Sunday with 4 debuting players in the team, including 3 Middlesex juniors.
Unfortunately, the Bedfordshire team got off to a fantastic start taking all 4 points on offer in the morning session of Foursomes
Lunch 4-0
However the singles started extremely well, as we packed our “big guns” out early to get some RED on the board, with our new captain, Will Orridge, winning his match 2&1. Followed by George Bell who won 3&2 and Rob Lyons who won 2&1.
Match Status 4-3
Unfortunately Mikael Khursheed lost, but he gained some more valuable experience. Debutant Tom Law, star of BBC’s EastEnders, making his debut, was next to finish who comprehensively won 5&4 doing himself justice in his first appearance for Middlesex.

Our tail end of Dan Jennings, Harrison Cannon and Amil Chandaria all gained valuable 1st team experience, but unfortunately all lost.

As an aside and part of “the sizzle” you would expect from Middlesex
Tom Law (Pete Beale in Eastenders) attracted attention at the group meal on Saturday, when he was spotted by his TV fans, when was the last time a Middlesex player gained so much attention…. back in the days of Ricky, Jerome and Buck maybe?
