THE SUDBURY SALVER 2026

Saturday 4th July, 2026

Sudbury Golf Club was delighted to welcome 66 competitors on Saturday 4th July for the 2026 Sudbury Salver. Players competed over 36 holes in what proved to be a fantastic day’s golf.

The weather was kind throughout the day, and the course was presented in outstanding condition, drawing plenty of compliments from competitors.

Following the opening round, Max Halcomb of Harewood Downs Golf Club and Sudbury’s own Tayan Wagjiani shared the lead after both returned excellent rounds of 72. Close behind were Dan Jeffries and Danial Parsons, leaving everything to play for over the final 18 holes.

The afternoon round produced plenty of drama. Tayan Wagjiani carded a 79, while Danial Parsons produced an excellent round of 73 to put himself firmly in contention. As the leaders approached the closing stages, Parsons stood over a birdie putt on the 18th green that would have given him a round of 72 and forced a playoff with clubhouse leader Max Halcomb, who had posted a second-round 76.

Unfortunately for Parsons, the birdie attempt narrowly missed the hole, leaving Halcomb as the 2026 Sudbury Salver Champion with a superb 36-hole total of 148.

Congratulations to Max Halcomb on a deserved victory and to all competitors for making the event such a success. Thanks also to the Greens team for presenting an excellent course, despite the challenges posed by the lack of rain in recent months. Lastly, appreciation to Joe and the House Team for fantastic food and superb hospitality.
