boys u16 vs bb&o vs beds

A fantastic day of competitive golf saw the Middlesex U16s team take on strong sides from BB&O and Bedfordshire. With some of our older players returning to the squad following their exams, and the exciting addition of Cairbre Smith stepping up from the U14s, there was a real buzz around the team from the outset.

Results:

🔹 Middlesex 2.5 – 5.5 BB&O

🔹 Middlesex 3.5 – 4.5 Bedfordshire

While the overall match points didn’t fall our way this time, the final results don’t tell the full story. Every match was closely fought, and the boys showed fantastic determination, team spirit, and sportsmanship throughout the day. The margins were fine, and it’s clear this group is on the cusp of something special—I’m confident a win is just around the corner.

Individual Highlights:

🏌️‍♂️ Pranay Patel was outstanding, securing two wins from two and showing real consistency under pressure.

🏌️‍♂️ Nathan Harris also impressed, earning a win and a half from his matches.

🏌️‍♂️ A brilliant debut from Cairbre Smith, who stepped up confidently from the U14s to secure a full point—great signs for the future.

🏌️‍♂️ Zak Mundy, our captain for the day, led by example and delivered a solid point for the team.

🏌️‍♂️ Freddie Buck who battled hard to earn a valuable half-point

A special thank you goes to U18s Manager Cairbre for assisting on the day, and to Des and our Middlesex representatives, Anne Koychev – our County Welfare Officer and Diana Rowlands – our County President,  for coming out to support the squad—it’s always appreciated.

Plenty of positives to take from today. The energy, effort, and attitude were all spot on. The future of Middlesex golf is in great hands! ‎

Special thanks to Clair Lawton & the team at Pinner Hill Golf Club for hosting. All of the teams really enjoyed the course.
