The Grande Finale of the Winter-long Junior Futures Tour was held on Thursday 9th April at Ealing Golf Club.
Double points were on offer for this event. Our leader going into Round 8 was Ashford Manor’s Marley Mohan. Marley has led the standing since Round 1. Jack Manders, also from Ashford, was closely on Marley heels. So, the stage was set for an immense show down in the sun. Jack won the event with a superb round of 74. However, Marley was only one shot further back with 75 to take the runner up spot. Joseph Eagle was third on 76. Our nett winner is Joseph Kennedy from Enfield Golf Club, with a wonderful round of 63. A handicap reduction will swiftly & deservedly follow.
Marley is our Futures Tour Champion, pipping Jack by 2½ points. Well played boys, your clubs should be very proud of you. Henry Bucys is our Nett Champion, also from Ashford Manor. I’m not sure what they’re feeding these Juniors at Ashford Manor, but I want some too.
Thanks to our hosts Ealing for a superb course in superb condition. Also. a huge debt of gratitude to all clubs who gave up their courses throughout the winter so that our Junior golfers had a meaningful competition to play for over the dark winter months.
