We had a fabulous day. The weather was a warm ,sunny Autumn day.
There were 18 teams fielded, involving 54 players and the course was full for the first time in many years.
Despite the challenges that the course has faced with the prolonged spell of dry weather, the extensive drainage work and the sand dressing, the players found much to enjoy and to be challenged by. In particular the greens, which test golfers of all abilities.
Thank you to all the clubs and their players that came to support this ‘end of term’ gathering. Its always great fun to see so many golfing friends.
Many thanks to the ladies who came to help before the shotgun start, making sure that all the teams got to the right place at the right time…it makes a huge difference to see welcoming faces on arrival. A huge thanks go to the in-house team, headed by Jo and Eva, who looked after us all so well at breakfast and lunch.
Jennifer Winn, a long-standing friend of Lorna, gave a really informative talk, at lunch, about her and we did feel that we knew Lorna better as a result. Thank you. Highgate’s President, Nick Moore, kindly presented the cup and prizes to the winning teams.
In 3rd place with 69 points was Sudbury represented by Angela Spelman, Samantha Bentley and Sadhna Patel
In 2nd place, with 70 points, was a team from Muswell Hill, represented by Louise Tulip, Marjorie Holmes and Wendy Edgar-Jones
In 1st place, with 72 points was Highgate, represented by, Carolyn Carson, Martha Winfield and Gill Adams.
Congratulations to you all and well played.
Highgate look forward to welcoming you again in 2026.
Best wishes to you all,
Sue Drummond
