Middlesex Boys U16 Season Finale Report

Bedfordshire vs Essex vs Middlesex at The Millbrook Golf Club, Ampthill, Bedfordshire, Sunday 10th August.

Our final match of the season saw the boys put in a superb performance, going undefeated against two strong sides:

🔹 Essex 4 – 4 Middlesex

🔹 Bedfordshire 4 – 4 Middlesex

It was a day of tight, competitive golf and brilliant team spirit. The squad fought for every hole, and their efforts secured 8 match points across the two matches — enough to finish the season in 2nd place overall.

Individual Performances:

🏌️‍♂️ Oscar Tierney – 2 points. Won his first match early in dominant fashion, then produced a clutch run of holes from the 15th to close out his second win.

🏌️‍♂️ Amirali Jaffer – 2 points. Two wins from two, showing calm, composed golf and delivering under pressure in both matches.

🏌️‍♂️ Zak Mundy – 1.5 points. Took his first match convincingly, then showed great grit after a tough 15th hole to fight back and secure a vital half in the second.

🏌️‍♂️ Cairbre Smith (U14s) – 1.5 points. Has settled into the U16s seamlessly—played superbly to win his first match, then dug deep after a difficult 16th to grind out a hard-earned half in his second.

🏌️‍♂️ Pranay Patel – 1 point. Produced solid, composed golf to win his first match and fought hard throughout the day.

I’m incredibly proud of what this team has become over the season. Every player has grown, contributed, and shown the values we want in Middlesex golf — skill, teamwork, and resilience.

A big thank you to Cairbre Smith (U18s Manager) for all his help on the day, the rest of the county for their ongoing support, and a special mention to Des for making the trip to capture fantastic photos of the action.

What a way to close the season — the future looks very bright for this group! 🌟⛳️
