The last match update for the season.
Firstly I wanted to thank every player and parent for their contribution to the squad this.
What a day of golf at a Sunny but blustery Woolston Manor GC. The Final Scores on the day were: Middlesex v Essex 5:3, Middlesex v Herts 1.5:6.5; Herts v Essex 5:3. As you can see the matches were closer than we thought in Essex v Herts. I certainly think there were 3 Herts matches we could have taken a point from.
All in all I am very pleased with the result and more importantly the attitude! I thought we adapted well to the conditions. It was the first time we ran a Managers man of the match. Congrats to Harry C, taking two points. (I will contact directly). Other notable performances were Xavi, an unlucky rollout from tee shot on 18 had him lose out to Herts. Otherwise a fantastic match. Same for Marley, going unbeaten on the day, with all square in his matches. Unlucky not to hold on for the win in both. (very well played also). It was our highest scoring league match for some time. a total of 6.5 points across the two games. We managed to edge out Essex for total game points also. 6.5:6. We were also running a player league points table. The eventual winner of points was Will with 2.5 game points. Edging out Rory and Harry C on two points each. Well done Will.
On a Final note, a huge thank you to those players that leave the U18 this year. we wish you the best of luck and happy golfing for the future. For those that are still available for U18’s. Watch this space – we are making changes to our boys U18 and U16 format next year. I will be updating the whats app group in the next month for who is available next year. – Thanks All!
