The Middlesex Handicap Championships was held at the awesome Ashford Manor Golf Club on Thursday 10th September.Â
The weather was changeable but mainly dry as the players took to the course. The team competition, with the best 3 scores from four to count towards the Team total, was won by Enfield Golf Club with 106 points over Stanmore in second place with 101 points. Well done to Phil Tiddy, Jonathan Foster, Dickie Smart & Team captain, Ian Wright.
On to the individual competition. In third place was Muswell Hill’s Ruth Holmes with an impressive 37 points, (on count-back). In second place, also on 37 points, was Enfield’s Ian Wright. However, our Handicap Champion for 2026 is Ealing’s Warren Blanchett. Warren obviously found the course to his liking as he shot a super score of 43 Stableford points. Warren thanked his playing partners and praised the condition of the course, enabling him to shoot his best round of the season!
The course was fab, the food was fab and the organisation and support from Mike McConnell, the club manager & Tony Healy, the Director of Golf was exemplary. Thanks Ashford, we’ll be back!
