Middlesex Women take on Buckinghamshire in Friendly WIN
Sunday 27th April Middlesex v Bucks Friendly at Highgate
A mix of 1st and 2nd team players (Olivia Nicks, Izzy Codling, Lulu Housman and Tsuruko Kawabata from the 1st team, Mandy Miller, Elaine Cole, Altynay Davletova and Liz Kynoch from the 2nd team), recorded a good win in the first outing of the season, 5.5 to 2.5.
The 1st team pairs played all 18 holes in foursomes with Olivia and Izzy recoding a 6&4 victory followed by Lulu and Tsuruko winning 1 up.
The traditional friendly format was maintained for the 2nd team pairs with Mandy and Elaine scoring a full house – 3&2 in foursomes, and both Won their singles 1 up.
Liz and Altynay halved their foursomes and lost their singles 3&4 and 1 down.
Players from both teams enjoyed Highgate’s excellent playing surfaces, with greens rolling true at a very good pace.
A great day played in a very good spirit.
A warm welcome to Olivia and Tsuruko who were playing their first matches in Middlesex colours.
