The 2026 Pearson Inter-County Finals were held at Sundridge Park Golf Club on Wednesday 15th July. Middlesex were represented by Grims Dyke GC who took on Tenterden GC from Kent in the first game and Worplesdon GC from Surrey took on Brocket Hall GC. from Herts in the second match.
The first game was very close and befitting a semi-final clash. However the first three matches all went to the 18th green with Grims Dyke narrowly losing all 3 matches, despite there being 2 matches still on the course, with Maggie being six up in her match, it meant that Tenterden progressed to the afternoon final.
Well done to Lorraine Brier, Jo Lassman, Jo Luff, Julie Nash and Maggie Pinner. It was a fantastic achievement to reach the final and I’m sure you’ll be back next year.
The other semi-final saw Brocket Hall narrowly defeat Worplesdon to set up an afternoon Final with Tenterden. Again, it was a close affair but Brocket are Pearson Champions for 2026.
Lastly, a massive thanks to Heather Wood who has managed the Pearson leagues throughout the season and arranging the Middlesex Finals and the Inter-County Finals. You never see the hard work that Heather puts in behind the scenes to make sure that the Middlesex leagues run like clockwork. We are very lucky, lucky Heather!
