Day 1 of our Middlesex Men’s Senior Championships was played on a blustery day. 57 men competed over the 36 hole event. The top 15 players qualified for Day 2. However, there were still some prizes on offer on the first day. The low Nett Winner was home favourite Tshekedi Rose from Hendon Golf Club, with a nett score of 5 under 65. The runner up was Patrick Walsh from Crews Hill GC with a nett score of 3 under 67,
Our over 55 Winner is also Patrick Walsh with a gross score of 72.
Our over 60 Winner is Simon Westgarth from Fulwell GC with a gross score of 71.
Our over 65 Winner is Matt Bayford from Hendon GC with a gross score of 77.
Our over 70 Winner is Tom Powell from Mill Hill GC with a gross score of 78.Â
The team Winners were home favourites Hendon GC, with a gross total of +27. Runners Up are Ealing GC.
Day 2 saw the top 15 qualifiers battle it out to be Men’s Senior Champion Golfer of the Year.
There were some good scores but Simon Westgarth ran out to be our worthy winner with scores of 71 & 72 to pip Patrick Walsh into second place. Well done Simon who now goes on to represent Middlesex in the Senior Champion of Champions event at Woodhall Spa on 13-14th September. Good luck Simon!
