The last of our Senior friendlies against Hertfordshire took place at the East Herts Golf Club on 11th August. Although we didn’t get the play the course in ideal conditions, as with most courses, it was very dry and firm underfoot, but the greens and tee boxes were well watered. It must be a beautiful course under normal circumstances, with mature trees and outlooks over surrounding countryside.
Our team was comprised of Angela Spelman, Hema Dabasia, Clare Brown, Arlene Bailey, Vivian Gray, Sarah Crane, Jinny Lee and Carolyn Matthews. The Hertfordshire players dealt better with the course conditions and several had player there before. Some of the matches were very close, but unfortunately no wins for Middx. Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable day.
