The Lorna Peters Trophy

Hosts Highgate were triumphant on a beautiful Autumn day.

LORNA PETERS ANNUAL COMMEMORATIVE COMPETITION OCTOBER 7TH at HIGHGATE GC

We had a fabulous day. The weather was really autumnal, slighty windy, warm and sunny and everyone arrived on time, despite any local traffic problems in the area.

There were 16 teams fielded, 48 players and the course looked and played brilliantly. The greens in particular were commented on for their speed and playing surface. Thank you to all the clubs and their players that come to support this ‘end of term’ gathering.

Many thanks to all the ladies who came to help before the shotgun start, making sure that all the teams got to the right place at the right time…it makes a huge difference to see welcoming faces on arrival. A huge thanks go to the in-house team, headed by Jo and Eva, who looked after us all so well at breakfast and lunch.

Jennifer Winn, a long-standing friend of Lorna, gave a really informative talk, at lunch, about her and we did feel that we knew Lorna better as a result. Thank you. Highgate’s President, Nick Moore, kindly presented the cup and prizes to the winning teams.

In 3rd place, with 77 points was Muswell Hill 3, represented by Louise Tulip, Noreen Sullivan and Caroline Day.

In 2nd place with 84 points was Pinner Hill represented by Cheng Loo, Liz Rumble and Chetna Patel

In 1st place, also with 84 points, but winning on countback was Highgate GC, represented by Jane Grabiner, Ann Iveson and Alex Stuart.

Congratulations to you all and well played.

Highgate look forward to welcoming you again in 2025.
