Middlesex U14 Home (Stanmore GC) Vs Bedfordshire & Norfolk
Introduction:
On a much needed, hot and sunny day, we arrived at Stanmore GC, with the course looking and playing great, with hopes high after our first round of matches.
The Results were as follows:
Middlesex Vs Norfolk – 3 – 5 Loss
Middlesex Vs Bedfordshire – 3 ½ -4 ½ – Loss
Bedfordshire beat Norfolk 7-1
Middlesex 0 points
Bedfordshire 2 points
Norfolk 1 point
We unfortunately lost too many key matches and hence lost out to both our opponents.
The boys, as always showed some great golf at times but just too many mistakes on critical holes led to defeat.
This will have given them much needed experience none the less.
With such a young group, it’s great to see the progress and today experience will only help them moving forward.
Individual Performances as follows:
Pranny Patel;
L – 3&1 – Norfolk
W – 4&2 – Bedfordshire
A solid performance from the Captain who had a broken driver on the 1st and had to battle with a replacement that was not his.
Freddie Buck;
W – 5&4 – Norfolk
W – 2&1 – Bedfordshire
The best display from Fred in a “Middlesex Red Shirt”. Went up early in his matches and managed to keep the momentum throughout the game, never looking like he was going to lose.
Nathan Harris;
L – 6&5 – Norfolk
L – 6&5 – Bedfordshire
A shame as Nathan has been playing some great gold but the day just did not go for him. That’s golf and Nathan will learn lots from this.
Armaan Shahvarooghi;
L – 1 down – Norfolk
W – 1 up – Bedfordshire
Some very good golf again from Armaan taking both games to the 18th but a great up and down from Norfolk stopped him from getting a half after winning the other match well.
Toby Charvhin;
W – 7&6 – Norfolk
L – 3&1 – Bedfordshire
Really good performance on debut by Toby. Nervous at the start but played some solid golf and was unlucky not to win both games.
Ethan Taylor Fox ;
L – 3&2 – Norfolk
L – 3&2 – Bedfordshire
Some good golf from Ethan today but just a few too many mistakes at key times meant he lost both games on the 16th green. His time will come.
Roshan Ayaru;
L – 3&1 – Norfolk
L – 5&4 – Bedfordshire
Good golf at times from Roshan today but like a few of the others, just too many mistakes at key times but fought hard.
Billy Richards;
W – 2&1 – Norfolk
D – AS – Bedfordshire
Good day for Billy, coming from being down in both matches to get a win and a draw. Great putt on 18 got him a half.
Special mention to Conrad who was the reserve for the day and played two players from the Norfolk reserves.
Next match is Vs the same opponents is at a Norfolk course that’s yet to be named on June 17th.
Thanks, Dan and Paul
(Note This was Dan’s last match today as Team Manager and hands over to Paul. Thanks so much to Dan from everyone in the county )
