Women’s County Team vs Berkshire

Sunday 25th May at Mill Hill Golf Club

Our Ladies County 1st Team played a friendly with Berkshire on Sunday as final preparation before we host Woman’s County week with Hampshire, Kent, Surrey & Sussex.

We were superbly supported with 4 players from the County 2nd Team, managed by Liz Kynoch. The entire match was contested in a friendly but competitive manner, against strong players from a strong county. The format was foursomes on the front 9 and singles on the back 9 (allowing me to experiment with pairings) in a true match environment. The course played firm and fast and the blustery conditions made scoring difficult. Nevertheless, the quality of golf on display from both teams was exceptional.

The match result was Middlesex 8.5 points to Berkshire’s 9.5 points. Despite the result there was some exceptional performances, Liz’s team put in a sterling performance in halving their matches 3/3.

Stand out performances were:

Ines

Silvia

Izzy

and Tsuruko for fighting to the last for the half point.

Please feel free to come along and support our team at the upcoming County Week @ Mill Hill to celebrate Women’s Golf and maybe a upset on the cards this Year! County Week runs from 23rd to 25th June. We’d love to see you there!
